Welcome to my space!

Here, you are met exactly where you are at.

Your feelings will be valued and given voice for.

Being lost and uncertain is seen as opportunities to regain one’s bearing and attain clarity in self-knowledge.

I am here to provide my support and lend my hope to you as we navigate through the messiness and pain.

Together, we will transform your pain into meaningful purpose and sense of direction.

Hello!

I am Jeanice Cheong, a registered Psychologist with the Singapore Register of Psychologists, Singapore Psychological Society.

I am also a certified Emotion-focused therapy (EFT) therapist with the International Society of Emotion-Focused Therapy (IsEFT) as well as a certified Grief Educator.

Presently, I am seeing adolescents and adults who face mental health concerns, individually or as a couple,  at a private practice which I founded, called Bright Psych of Life. I am located in the Eastern region of Singapore.

I have been practising as a Clinical Psychologist for about 15 years now. This includes close to a decade worth of clinical experience at Institute of Mental Health, a tertiary mental health institute in Singapore, followed by recent stints in private practices (previously, in collectives, and now, an independent one).

Prior to that, I started out as a psychologist in Ministry of Home Affairs in 2007 working with both uniformed and civilian officers/staff in the Singapore Civil Defence Force and Singapore Police Force.

In my career, my experience has been predominantly in the area of providing individual psychotherapy and support to adolescents and adults with interpersonal and relational concerns, stress and anger management difficulties, trauma and abuse, mood disturbances, anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder, and personality disorders.

I seek to support bereaved clients navigating grief and loss from a grief-informed lens, helping them understand their grief and build a meaningful life that honours their loved ones.

In addition, I provide couple psychotherapy, where I journey with couples on their relational injuries and conflicts, towards more sustainable and helpful interactional processes.

I have experience in conducting group therapy (skills-based as well as process-oriented) and psychological evaluations such as IQ and neuropsychological assessments. As part of my therapy work, I do diagnostic clarification and suicide risk assessments too.

I have delivered training sessions on psychology and mental health- related topics to Home Team officers, community partners in Family Service Centres, and staff from corporate companies like RySense Ltd and PricewaterhouseCoopers Singapore Pte. Ltd.
